  79. The installation procedure for Lock-Out is quite simple.  The
  80. package includes a program, "INSTALL.EXE", which automates the
  81. entire process.  You will need about 800K of available disk space
  82. on the hard drive on which you plan to install Lock-Out.

  84. The exact steps you need to take will depend on how you received
  85. Lock-Out.

  88. INSTALLING FROM DISKETTES
  89.  
  90. To install from diskette(s), you need to perform the following steps.
  91.  
  92.    o  Place Lock-Out distribution diskette "Disk 1" in the
  93.       appropriate diskette drive.
  94.  
  95.    o  Execute the "INSTALL.EXE" program on the distribution diskette.
  96.       For example, if the distribution diskette is on drive A:, type
  97.       the MS-DOS command, "a:install".
  98.  
  99.    o  Follow the instructions presented by the installation program.
  100.       You will have a chance to approve installation before any changes
  101.       are actually made to the contents of your hard drive.  The
  102.       program will ask you for a destination directory, and will copy
  103.       the Lock-Out files to that directory.  It will then ask you to
  104.       accept changes to your AUTOEXEC.BAT and CONFIG.SYS files.

  107. INSTALLING FROM A HARD DRIVE
  108.  
  109. If you downloaded Lock-Out from a BBS (or received it in the form of
  110. archive files from some other source), you will need to perform the
  111. following steps.
  112.  
  113.    o  Extract the contents of the archive file(s) in a temporary
  114.       directory on your hard drive.  The procedure for doing this
  115.       varies, depending on the form in which you received the package.
  116.       In all likelihood, the fact that you are reading this text means
  117.       that you already have the necessary tools and knowledge to
  118.       perform this step.  If not, you should be able to obtain
  119.       directions for this from the same source from which you received
  120.       the package.

  122.    o  Execute the "INSTALL.EXE" program which you have extracted.  For
  123.       example, if the temporary directory into which you have extracted
  124.       the Lock-Out package is C:\TEMPDIR, you would execute the MS-DOS
  125.       command, "c:\tempdir\install".
